As part of the educational outreach programme, SOPA offered our students attending KINDERGARTEN, a 1-hour performance/workshop based on the opera for children– Red Riding Hood. This opera included 3 professional singers and a musician. Opera was introduced to pupils in a creative way. It was sung by three singers: a soprano, a mezzo soprano and a baritone. The performers were accompanied by a musician on the piano. The scary Wolf was transformed into a comic character, Granny became an absent minded old lady. This popular opera explored themes such as the importance of listening to your parents, and the consequences of making bad choices.
