Remember that students attend half days during June while school starts earlier in the morning, at 8:15am.

01/05/2019: Spring Open Week / Plant Sale

Our annual Spring Open Week is being held between Monday 6th and Friday 10th May… please follow the schedule for the class activities. A plant sale is being held at the school’s foyer.

10/04/2019: ALIVE2019 International Childhood Cancer Research – 9th April 2019

Students and Staff are invited to come to school in a yellow t-shirt or wear something yellow (symbolising children’s cancer research) against a contribution of €1.

 

09/03/2019: Parents’ Day – 14th March 2019

Parents are invited to meet the Teachers on Thursday 14th March 2019 to discuss the students’ progress. On this day, students have no school.

 

17/02/2019: Carnival Fun Walk – Fundraising

Let’s help Youth Alive and support our school in purchasing more resources for our new classrooms during our Carnival Fun Walk! Fill-in the sponsor sheet and collect funds for our cause!

– Classes collecting the most funds will be awarded the ‘Carnival Fun Walk Champions’ title (one Class from Kinder, one from Yr1 to Yr3 and another from Yr4 to Yr6, according to the students’ population, per capita).

– A trophy for the winning Classes will be given as a Class and kept for the current term and the students themselves can choose an outing as part of the reward!

– Donations together with the Sponsor Sheet are to be returned to the Class Teacher by Thursday 28th February 2019.

09/11/2018: Panina Day – 22nd November 2018

The School Council is holding a Panina Day on Thursday 22nd December. Students are encouraged to participate while supporting the school to collect funds for more resources.

 

19/10/2018: C.O.P.E. training session for Teaching Staff – no school for students on Wed 24th October 2018

Kindly remember that there is no school for all students on Wed 24th October since Teaching Staff have a full day training.

 

06/10/2018: Parents’ Evening

This year the Parents’ Evening will be held on Wednesday 10th of October 2018. The parents/guardians of each class will be divided into two groups and given a time schedule to attend the meeting. This will ensure smaller groups and better participation.

During this meeting the teacher will give the necessary information about what is to be done throughout the year. The teacher will also be in a position to answer the parents’ queries.

 

26/09/2018: Two Primary Schools in Marsaskala

During the scholastic year 2018-19 a new school will be opening in Marsaskala. The current school will still be operating along the new school and a plan is being devised so that pupils residing close to the new school will start attending at the appropriate time, as indicated to us by the Education Directorate.

As part of the plan, pupils have been grouped in Classes in a way that they can remain with their Teacher, LSE and classmates when this process occurs. The following is an overview of the grouping that has been devised for this scholastic year:

As per table above, please note that all Year 6 pupils will continue their educational journey at the current school. The same applies to the migrant learners currently attending the Induction Classes.

01/09/2018: First day of Scholastic Year 2018-2019:

Please note that the first day for Scholastic Year 2018-2019 is on Wednesday 26th September 2018 for Primary students (Year 1 to Year 6) while on Monday 1st October for Kinder pupils. All students are to proceed to last year’s  classroom and then Teachers will be indicating the new Class. Good luck to all our students!

 

15/06/2018: Last day of Scholastic Year 2017-2018:

As indicated in our school calendar, please note that the last day for Scholastic Year 2017-2018 is on Thursday 28th June 2018 for all pupils. We wish you all happy summer holidays!

 

18/05/2018: Fruit, Vegetables and Milk:

On Mondays as from next week students are going to be given portions of fruit and vegetables on a weekly basis. Similarly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays they will be provided with fresh milk individually packed. These products are being provided by the Education Directorate.

 

06/05/2018: SDP day:

We remind you that on Friday 18th May, Teaching Staff have their SDP Day. Students do not attend school on this date.

 

05/05/2018: Kinder Curriculum Time:

Kindly note that on Friday 25th May, Kindergarten pupils finish school at 12:00pm.

29/04/2018: Benchmarks:

The Year 6 students will be having their Benchmarks between Monday 28th May to Friday 1st June 2018. School hours for Year 6 students are as usual.

KG1 – KG2 finish at 11.30am

May we remind you that a meeting for parents is being held on Thursday 22nd March at 9am by BeSmart Online representatives.

 

15/03/2018: Reminder re: public holiday and start of Term 3:

A gentle reminder that next Monday 19th March is a Public Holiday and there is no school on the day.

Moreover, please note that Easter holidays are between Wednesday 28th March and Thursday 5th April, both dates included.

The Third Term starts on Friday 6th April.

 

18/02/2018: Parents’ Day:

Kindly note that the Parents’ Day is going to be held on Friday 2nd March 2018, during which the Class Teacher discusses the student’s progress with the parents. You are kindly invited to attend according to the time indicated by the Class Teacher.

On this day pupils have no school and kindly do not bring them with you at school. Thank You.

 

25/01/2018: Supervision between noon and 2:30pm during Half Yearly Exams:

Please note the following paragraph extracted from a circular issued by the Director General which we have recently emailed:

Pupils who for some reason cannot leave at 12.00, they will remain at school and will be supervised by staff as deemed and organised by the Head of School. After school hours, pupils who attend Klabb 3-16 will do so as per usual routine.”

We are going to provide supervision accordingly.

 

15/01/2018: Choice of Language for Year 6

May we remind all Yr6 students and their parents that a special session is going to be held Zejtun Secondary School regarding the Choice of Languages on Wednesday 24th January 2018.

18/12/2017 – Last day of Term 1:

Kindly note that Friday 22nd December is the last day of school for this year. Students have the Christmas Party and they can come to school in their casual wear. School will have the dismissal according to this schedule:

KG1 – KG2 at 11.30am

Yr1 – Yr3 at 11:45am

Yr4- Yr6 at 12:00pm

School transport is at 12:00pm while there will be no Klabb 3-16 on the day. Teaching Staff will be supervising until all students are safely collected by their parents/guardians.

15/12/2017 – Happy 50th Birthday to our school!

On Friday 15th December 2017, STMC Marsaskala Primary School is celebrating the 50th anniversary from the opening of the school. All students are participating in Art activities and a special mass is held at the School Hall for student representatives and special guests.
