Migrant students taken to some cultural outings

Migrant students who are learning the  A1 course in Maltese were taken to two cultural outings during this week to enhance better their knowledge of Maltese traditions.

Year 3 students went to our capital city Valletta where they had the chance to experience some important spots of this beautiful place such as the recently-opened Tritoni Square, Republic Street, St John’s Co-Cathedral and the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

During this trip, Year 3 children had the chance to play some traditional Maltese games such as boċċi and passju.

Some on-site quizzes were made to revise all that was done in class regarding Maltese shops and garden vocabulary.

On the other hand, students from year 4, 5 and 6 were taken to the Petting Farm in Ta’ Qali. All the children had a great experience watching some farm animals such as rabbits, horses, donkeys, hens and birds.

A fieldwork and an on-site quiz about the names of animals in Maltese as well as some terms of a typical farm were also done.

All the students were really happy after this experience and are looking forward for more cultural outings that are very important to further develop their understanding of Maltese culture and traditions.
