Last Friday 29th March, all the Year 6 pupils were engaged in an activity including maths, science and physical exercise. The pupils had some tasks to work out in a booklet issued by the Science teacher, Ms. Abigail and the Maths teacher, Ms. Francesca.

The students started at Selmun Chapel and Selmun Castle first. They worked with a windvane, read the clock and time on the notice board, estimated and measured lengths then found out areas, used shop menus to calculate bills and read road signs. Then, during their 1.5km walk to Imġiebaħ Bay, they had to stay on the lookout for the different landscapes, flowers and rubblewalls.

Some students also brought their tablets to take pictures of the different things we encountered in Selmun. Back in class they created postcards with Pic Collage with the pictures. There were four different groups, those taking photos of the local symbols of Selmun, those working with the different landscapes seen, those capturing the different flowers found and those looking closely at the traditional Maltese rubble walls and their inhabitants. The students were also asked to write short paragraphs using their 5 senses about what they saw, smelt, touched, heard and talked about.
