During the PSCD lessons in the first term, students explored the topic of democracy and understood how important their voice is in the school community. Sessions on leadership, teamwork, decision making, communication and public speaking have been carried out in preparation for the Student Council elections.

Children from Year 4 to Year 6 handed their nominations and promoted themselves and their ideas during the Electoral Campaign. They gave a short speech to their class, created posters and distributed badges to encourage their classmates to vote for them. This helped the voters to choose the right candidates.

The elections were held between the 20 – 24th November 2017.  One student from each class was elected by the classmates. The councillors are Sarah Sant 4.1, Giovanni D’Amico 4.2, Shazelle Bonavia 4.3, Laura Briffa 4.4, Jodie Vella 4.5, Willa Naylor 5.1, Craig Caruana 5.2, Xaniah Madia 5.3, Oisin McKinley 5.4, James Borg 6.1, Pamela Sammut 6.2, Maya Al-Hasan 6.3, Raisa Rose Piscopo 6.4. Ms Gafa’ is the Link Teacher. During their first meeting Councillors will vote for their President, Secretary and Public Relations Officer. Well done to all children who participated and good luck to the newly elected Councillors!
